Kids Alley Learning Center (KALC) is an academic support program offered after school for elementary and middle-school-aged children in the city of Camden. The program operates from 3:30-5:30 pm Mondays through Thursdays during the school year. KALC serves as a safe and loving haven with the focus on each child receiving the attention and affirmation he or she needs.
All our students receive:
• Homework assistance from tutors from various schools
• Artistic and cultural enrichment activities
• Arts and crafts
• Technology & Computers
• Bible Devotions
• Snacks
• Nutrition and Physical Fitness
Our students improve in leaps and bounds! Writing awards, poetic awards, and academic awards are seen from the students, as they proudly show their teachers and tutor friends their accomplishments. Children also earn Honor Roll and Straight As! Areas that were once developing, such as language arts and mathematics, become more solidified. We could not achieve these wonderful results without the help of volunteer tutors, nutritious snack donations, and financial donations to help support the program.

Saturday Live @ Kids Alley
.
In 1998, founder and director Vivian Tan developed a unique and interactive high-energy program for ages 3-12 on Saturday mornings for the children of Camden, New Jersey. Providing a safe haven and loving refuge to prepare children for success, Kids Alley hosts a creative blend of living arts presentations, educational and academic support, nutritional provisions and leadership development. Our mission is to embrace all children with God’s love and to empower them with His Word.
Meeting biweekly on Thursdays, Extreme Youth learn who they are in Christ, character building, ministry, and serving. The focus of the program is to encourage the Extreme Youth in their life in Jesus Christ, and challenge them to grow in their love for God and for the people around them. These Thursday evening meetings involve praise and worship, Bible study, sharing time, question and answer time, and prayer and fellowship. As a result, the youth learn to develop resiliency to the negative elements of the inner city.
Using what they’ve learned, the Extreme Youth members are expected to live out their faith by serving the Kids Alley Ministry and shoing God’s love to the children by helping in practical ways. To this end, the youth have helped at the KA Saturday Program and at other KA special events, such as the Kids Alley Learning Center Prom, Saturday Summer Kick-Off Events, and the Walk for Hope.
