Letter of Thanks

Thank you for impacting the lives of our children at Kids Alley by making four weeks of summer camp a reality with your generous contributions. Our appreciation goes to the churches who are hosting the summer camps and to all our devoted volunteers and sponsors.

Due to your prayers and your financial support through various fundraisers, the recent phone outreach and especially the efforts of many children and youth raising support for the children in Camden, Kids Alley will be able to start up the programs in September. This is indeed good news to the many children and families who have come to depend on our programs.

Here is one of many touching stories from one of our faithful volunteers.

“While driving a car load of generous teens to tutor at Kids Alley one day last spring, I was again reminded of how tuned-in and big-hearted these teens can be.  Emma, the fifteen year old who sat beside me in the front passenger seat was digging through her backpack.  She began telling me that the little boy she was tutoring the week before was using a folder that was held together at the fold by a hair like paper fiber.  So Emma took it upon herself to make a mental note to bring the little boy a new folder, and she did. 

As I think back to that simple story I am reminded of all the things I am “going to do” and then I simply forget, or let myself off-the-hook…or sometimes I’m just not “tuned-in” enough to notice in the first place.  We can all take a lesson from Emma!!   For those of us who are blessed with so much, the simple gift of a school folder can seem like nothing, but really it says so much to a child from Camden, like…. your education is important, you matter to me, or I care enough about you to help.”

Here is your chance to be a hero like Emma in the life of a child. You can be sure that each backpack you fill will automatically be filled with HOPE!  So let us all "tune-in" and take this moment to make a difference one backpack at a time!
