Our Director and Team
Vivian Tan


Vivian Tan has 24 years of full time experience in children’s ministry. She has been the director of children’s and youth ministry in the church and has also spent time developing a unique and very creative approach to inner city and community outreach. She has worked extensively in outreach to cities of Philadelphia, PA and Camden, NJ.

Vivian is the recipient of the 1998 NJ State Child Assault Prevention Award, recognizing her contribution to children and the prevention of their abuse and for the advocacy of their rights. She has also received the West Jersey Reading Council’s Mary Cudemo Literacy 2001 Award in recognition of her work in promoting literacy among the children. Vivian was awarded the Martin Luther King Freedom Medal in Camden County for 2002. She was also recognized as an Outstanding Woman of Camden County in 2009.

Vivian conducts workshops that give the hands on experience and confidence to children’s ministry workers to effectively reach the children of today in their church and community.

Staff

Aida Delgado, Kids Alley Learning Center Team Director
Aida joined the Learning Center in fall of 2008. She is experienced working with children who have special needs. Aida is passionate about empowering the children living in the inner city. She oversees the 4th to 8th graders at the Learning Center. She is also a liaison for Kids Alley and our Spanish speaking families.

Marlys Prescott, Extreme Youth Director
Marlys started at the Kids Alley Learning Center in October of 2009 is working with the Kindergarten and First Grade students. She has many years of experience as a teacher of Christian education to both children and teens. Having a degree in Elementary Education, she also taught First Grade for several years. Marlys currently helps with Extreme Youth.

Cliff Prescott, Extreme Youth Director and Kids Alley Learning Center
Cliff first began working with the Kids Alley Learning Center in 2009. He has a great love for children and has been teaching Children's Church for over 25 years. One of his favorite experiences is teaching the Kids Alley Extreme Youth, which he has done for about 8 years. He is involved with the 5th through 8th graders at KALC and gets excited by the changes in the KALC children's lives, family and friends when they take hold of the promises of God.

Volunteer Staff
Carol Handy, Kids Alley Outreach Program Manager

Carol has over 20 years experience working with children in a Christian setting. Carol began teaching CCD in 1990 at her church, Our Lady of Hope (formerly St. Agnes Church) in Blackwood, NJ. She also served as Confirmation Coordinator in the parish for several years. Carol has been volunteering with Kids Alley for 5 years with the Saturday morning program and was recently named the Outreach Program Manager with many responsibilities throughout the Kids Alley organization primarily dealing with the Saturday morning outreach as well as special events such as Back to School backpack collection and the annual Christmas Rally and coat collection. Carol has a bachelor of sciences degree in Computer Science from Elizabethtown College in Elizabethtown, PA and has worked as a software engineer for 20 years at Mission Solutions Engineering in Moorestown, NJ.

Annie Powles, Kids Alley Resource Director
After college, Annie gained experience in retail management and volunteer work through Big Brothers Big Sisters. Annie found Kids Alley where she and her three boys began tutoring in the spring of 2009. Annie had been a CCD teacher for several years. At her new parish in Haddonfield, NJ, she began a youth group for the parish’s teens in the spring of 2010 by initially drawing them to volunteer at Kids Alley. Currently over 70 teens from Haddonfield have spent time with the children of Kids Alley, and over 40 of them do so on a weekly basis. Annie is also fortunate enough to be able to drive for Interfaith Caregivers.
